This is how they work
At Butler & Badou Portraits, we are a specialist family portrait studio, creating beautiful memories for families throughout Hawaii.
We will stop at nothing to achieve the very best results for you. To achieve this, it’s important that you are aware of how our studio works …
Each session starts with a pre-session consult. This is done over the phone and with all adults that will be part of the session. In this, we go over the goals of the session, what you would be create, prices, and studio policies. If we are unable to contact all adults we will cancel the session until we are able to speak to everyone.
Children – If you would like your children photographed individually or together, we are only too happy to photograph them at no extra charge separately and together so long as the entire family unit attends the Portrait Session.
Partial Families – We do not photograph ‘incomplete families’, where a family member has not been able to attend the portrait session. We are more than happy to reschedule a new appointment for you when you are all together again.
A valid credit card is required to make all Portrait Photography Reservations. We charge $100 for each studio session.
We require that 2 adults (usually both parents) attend the Design and Ordering Appointment. This appointment is unable to take place unless all adults involved attend. Your order appointment is the first and only time you will see your pictures. This is when we place your order so all decision makers need to be present. Your images are retired after this appointment and no longer available for purchase.
Studio hours are Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. After hours Portrait Sessions are very popular and we can have our staff accommodate your family after 5pm on a Weekday or from 9am to 5pm on a weekend, subject to availability.
Location photography (Beach, Home, Etc) is available at extra cost and is subject to availability – a session fee of $200 is required our out of studio sessions.
Cancellations: If you are unable to keep your appointment, you must let us know at least 7 days before your session. Sessions changed less than 7 days before your session, forfeit their deposit and they will have to make a new appointment and pay a new session fee. We reserve 1.5 hours for your session. If you are more than 15 minutes late to your appointment, we will not be able to photograph you. You will need to book a new time and pay a new session fee.
Upon making your Reservation, we will send you valuable advice on clothing selection and other ideas so that you will get the most out of your time with us. Please be sure to read the information.
If you have a Gift certificate:
Your Gift Certificate is for artwork from a Family Portrait Session. ‘Family’ is parents and/or grandparents with children of any age. Many clients take this opportunity to make Multigenerational Portraits including up to 5 generations. Gift Certificates are not valid past expiration date – your Portrait Session must occur before expiration date, it is advisable to call us within 7 days of receiving your Gift Certificate to ensure we can give you more time and day options. Gift Certificates are not redeemable for cash.
Additional and Larger Portraits, painted finishes and Frames – You are never under any obligation to invest more than your Gift Certificate value. Naturally, we are here to help you get the best from your time with us and we can offer valuable advice on how to achieve the best end result, even if you have a limited budget. We offer very low 5% interest terms up to 9 months and accept all credit cards.
